Captain Murphy’s Charter Fishing was established by Matt Murphy in 1961. It is now owned and operated by Stephen and Patrick Murphy.  They fish out of South Padre Island in the bay and offshore.

Family fishing adventures

The Petty’s have been guiding since 1980.  Janie and Fred Petty guide fishermen out of Laguna Vista by drifting over the Laguna Madre bay throwing various artificials.

Guided by Capt. Mark Atkinson out of Arroyo City and South Padre Island. Frontier Charters focuses on sight fishing the flats of the Laguna Madre. Frontier Charters also offers guided kayak trips.

The Getaway Adventure Lodge was established in 1999 in Port Mansfield, Texas.  Captain Bruce Shuler founded the lodge and along with 4 other captains including his son, Captain Brandon Shuler, guides fishermen in the Port Mansfield area both near and offshore.

Led by Skipper Ray, Island Outfitters offers guided trips on the Laguna Madre using both conventiona and fly tackle and is home to a complete outfitters shop with tackle, supplies and fishing licenses available for sale.

Kingfisher Inn and Guide Services offers fine lodging and guide service on the world-class fishery of the Lower Laguna Madre of the south Texas Gulf Coast.

At the age of five, Capt. Garza started fishing the Lower Laguna Madre with his grandfather and father.  Since he was young, fishing has been passion which led him to a career in the retail fishing industry. He became an avid fly fisherman which soon led him to kayak fishing.
